Sausage Queen

Presented by Woodford Reserve

Finals held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 7:30PM, Preliminary rounds held throughout February The renowned (and sometimes notorious) Sausage Queen helps lead the Bockfest™ Parade by carrying a symbolic tray of Bockwurst sausage. The Sausage Queen is Bockfest™ royalty who is anointed in the least aristocratic manner we could create: a gender-neutral pageant that has multiple preliminary rounds in local bars. Winning contestants receive prizes, but are mostly vying for the honor and prestige of being the 2015 Sausage Queen, an honor to both themselves and their sponsoring saloon. (more...)

Beefsteak Club Dinner

Saturday January 31, 2015 6:30P

The Beefsteak Club returns to support Bockfest 2015! As the name suggests, the event includes dinner, but the experience does not involve steak. In the spring of 1896, the Windisch-Muhlhauser Brewery hosted some of the most prominent Cincinnatians. Guests enjoyed an elegant meal with beer pairings in the unlikely ambiance of the brewery. Cincinnati’s political and social elite enjoyed the experience so much that it became a regular occurrence, and the standard guest list called themselves members of the Beefsteak Club. We carry on this tradition to help support Bockfest, the most unique and fun neighborhood festival in the region. This year's dinner will be held on the third floor of the historic Hudepohl Brewery bottling building, located on East McMicken in Over-the-Rhine. In addition to the unveiling of this year's Bockfest artwork by artist Jim Effler, we'll have live music by The Burning Caravan, tours of the building and lagering cellars, and special giveaways along with a delicious meal by Ronda Breeden and Arnold's Bar & Grill and cold beer by the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. Precipitation Retaliation Happy Hour

Friday, February 27, 2015 from 5:30PM to 10PM

In 2008, Bockfest™ was almost entirely shut down by the largest snowfall in 20 years. A motley band of hardcore Bockfest™ fans took to the streets to parade through the snow, and hunkered down at Bockfest Hall to enjoy their delicious Bock beer. Unfortunately, everyone else was not so lucky and couldn't make it to Over-the-Rhine. (more...)
