Sunday March 6

Continental Sunday (at Bockfest Hall), 1P-7P: Organized by the German-American Citizens League, March 8th is Continental Sunday at Bockfest Hall. In the Over-the-Rhine of the 1800s, it was illegal to sell beer on Sundays, but that didn’t stop Cincinnati’s German-American community from filling the day with revelry and drink. This controversial approach to celebrating the Sabbath was known as “Continental Sunday” and we celebrate this history with a day of authentic German dancing, variety shows, and music, along with tours, authors, steins, and breweriana exhibits. Everyone wearing tracht (traditional German dress) get $1 off beer.
Continental Bockfeast (at Bockfest Hall), 12P-2P
Bocklympics (at Bockfest Hall Festival Tent), 12P-7P:

Arnold’s will be selling these as To Go retail and it will be more in line with what you would traditionally think of as a bottle release at a brewery. The beer will be released at the stroke of 11A and is first come first served with a two bottle limit. Here is the beers description from Christian Moerlein: Originally brewed to help monks get through their holy fasts, this medal-winning Christian Moerlein Doppelbock is brewed with locally-made coffee to help keep celebrants jubilant during Bockfest. Made in collaboration with the legendary Arnold’s Bar & Grill, this beer will only be released in a 300 bottle batch. Enjoy it now or proudly cellar it to explore a wealth of complex flavors.
